Waltham Abbey
The overall design was based upon the rose window which dominates the eastern wall of the Abbey Church. This directional signage commission for the grounds of Waltham Abbey was made in terrazzo and features designs originated in workshops facilitated by the artist at King Harold’s School, Waltham Abbey. Students collaborated with the artist to produce the distinctive logo designs and then carved polystyrene moulding blocks. The blocks were then used in casting the terrazzo slabs which make up the artwork. Metalwork is inscribed with an Old English Rose design by one of the students.
